As a new entry to the Chicago area supermarket category, Standard Market was looking to create a working company office that reflects the high-end quality of the product offer but also functioned as a working sales office for the new store concept.
Design Solution
In keeping with its California origin, the interior space took its inspiration with a more relaxed office atmosphere without the trappings of hierarchy of management. Large open expanses of glass facilitate the communication among managers. The materials were selected for their eco-sustainable characteristics including recycled woods, composite porcelain tile, and reused materials in the carpeting. An all-natural, health directed mindset for the supermarket was translated into the office environment. A full working commercial kitchen encourages the managers to test new product recipes and underscores the leading edge food varieties found in their store cases.
